SPRING ARBOR, MI - Spring Arbor Men's tennis defeated former WHAC conference foe Cornerstone University 8-1 this afternoon in cool and very windy conditions on the campus of Spring Arbor University. The entire match took just over an hour and a half to complete as no matches went three sets, and only one set was close at 6-4.
The win was the eighth straight for the Cougars and the 20th for the program against only one loss.
David Darling won at both #1 singles (6-2, 6-2) and at #2 Doubles (8-1) to improve his personal record to 41-3 on the year. Darling is ranked in the top 40 in the NAIA.
Thomas Calderone and Aaron Mayes defeated John Andrews and Chris Selva at the #1 doubles spot 8-0 to improve their record to 17-2 at the one doubles spot for the year.
Spring Arbor will resume action this Saturday at the GRCC Invitational Tournament in Grand Rapids. The next head to head play will be at home on April 16th at 3:30 against Davenport University. The D.U. Panthers are currently 12-10 on the year.
