Joey Tessmer was named to the 2025 Academic All-District Baseball Team. The Academic All-District teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Tessmer, a financial planning major, earned his first All-Crossroads League honor after an outstanding sophomore campaign. The centerfielder from Dexter, Michigan ranked second on the team in batting average (.308), slugging percentage (.519), hits (57) and RBIs (32). He collected a team-best 21 extra-base hits, including 11 doubles and eight home runs – both team-highs. Tessmer put together a 12-game hitting streak from Feb. 6 – Mar. 10 and registered 14 multi-hit games, which was tied for the most on the squad.
Players nominated for the CSC All-District Team were starters or key reserves with cumulative grade point averages of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Each nominated student-athlete was at their current college or university for at least one academic year.
