TECUMSEH, Mich. – Junior
Zach Koch fired a one-over 73 in Saturday's final round of the Irish Hills Intercollegiate to claim medalist honors and propel the Spring Arbor University men's golf team to a third place team finish in the season opener.
Koch, who was tied for fourth entering the final day, carded a 148 over the 36-hole event to win by two shots and capture his first career title.
Andrew Veldman finished inside the top-10 in seventh place with a two-round total of 154 following rounds of 78 and 76.
As a team, Spring Arbor recorded a 315 in Friday's opening round and a 314 on Saturday for a total score of 629. The College of Wooster took home the top spot with a 616 and host Adrian College came in second with a 626.
