Anil Joseph

Anil Joseph begins his second season at the helm of the SAU men's golf program in 2025-26.

Joseph, a longstanding member of the staff at Spring Arbor, has prior experience with the Cougar golf teams having previously coached the women's squad from the fall of 2012 through the spring of 2016. Over those four years, his wealth of knowledge and experience helped grow the newly launched program before having to step away to focus on his primary role at the time as the department chair for the University's Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation, as well as his load as a professor.
In 2021, Joseph made a return to coaching, becoming the top assistant on the SAU men's soccer staff. In his three seasons on the bench, the veteran mentor has been a tremendous resource and has helped lead a resurgence in the program with the Cougars making a run to the Crossroads League Tournament championship game in 2022 and finishing third in the league in 2023.
In addition to serving as an assistant, Joseph also spent time as the head coach of the men's soccer team, directing the program from 1995-2008. During that time, he was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Coach of the Year and garnered National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Regional Coach of the Year honors.
Along with his coaching experience, Joseph – a SAU alum and former athlete – has been a full-time instructor at Spring Arbor for more than 20 years, and he currently serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Health, Human Performance, and Recreation.
Joseph earned his bachelor's degree from Spring Arbor University, a master's degree in Exercise Science from Western Michigan University, and a master's degree in Business Administration from SAU. He and his wife, Kristi, live in Concord, Michigan and have three adult children and one granddaughter.
