SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Crossroads League announced its 2025-26 Women's Basketball Preseason Poll and Preseason All-League Team on Wednesday, as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Spring Arbor University was voted No. 5 in the preseason conference ratings and had one player named to the preseason all-league team – sophomore
Megan Zeitz.
The University of Saint Francis was picked as the preseason favorite to win the conference followed by Marian University and Indiana Wesleyan University.
Spring Arbor, led by fourth-year head coach
John Williams, earned its second straight trip to the NAIA national tournament a year ago. The Cougars owned a 19-12 overall record and finished fourth in the Crossroads League regular season standings with a mark of 11-7.
Zeitz made an immediate impact in her rookie season on her way to receiving All-Freshman Team honors. The Dansville, Michigan native started all 31 games and averaged 11.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and a team-best 2.7 assists per game. She registered three 20-point games, including 21 in the Crossroads League Tournament Quarterfinal victory over Huntington.
Spring Arbor opens the season on the road against Cleary University in Lansing, Michigan. Then, the Cougars host Kuyper College in their home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m.
