Former SAU men’s soccer alumni Matthew Brown has joined the Spring Arbor University men's soccer staff as an assistant coach, announced Cougar head coach Josh Oakley.
Brown joins the cougars after a two year stint as an assistant coach with the men’s soccer program at fellow crossroads league member, the University of Saint Francis (IN). Matthew is currently the head coach of the Jackson Rush’ 07/06 & 05 Boys team. He has also spent time coaching with Fort Wayne Sport Club as the head coach of the 03 Ingolstadt Boys team.
Brown played four seasons at Spring Arbor University. He scored two goals for the program throughout his collegiate career and notched one assist. During his time at the University of Saint Francis, the program doubled it's win output in his two full seasons, as well as made the conference tournament for the first time since the 2014-2015 season. In his two year spell the team also produced one 1st team all conference player for the first time since 2014. Matthew earned his United States Soccer Federation (USSF) F Coaching License.
Matthew is a Toronto, Canada native. He currently resides in Spring Arbor with his wife Faith and their daughter Myla.
