Men's Hoops Win 4th Straight

The Spring Arbor University Cougars went on the road Tuesday night and earned a hard fought 75-71 victory over the Rochester College Warriors. SAU led wire to wire, including posting a 44-29 halftime lead, but were unable to pull away in the second half.

"We knew going into the game that we'd be in for a battle," commented SAU head coach Ryan Cottingham. "Rochester plays extremely hard and is a very fundamentally sound team. They are well coached."

The fourth straight win for the Cougars sets up an early season showdown with rival Cornerstone University on Saturday afternoon at 3:00. Cornerstone enters the game as the 8th ranked team in NAIA Division II while SAU is 33rd.

Saturday is also the first annual "Cougar Community Day" which grants spectators free admission, a free post game basketball clinic for boys and girls 5-12 years old, and free pizza for those who participate in the clinic. There will be several contests and giveaways throughout the afternoon as well.
