Box Score Faced with an opponent who participated in last year's NAIA national championships, Spring Arbor women's basketball coach Tara Kreklau's Lady Cougars battled valiantly but fell in their season opener 76-62 to the Davenport University Panthers.
Spring Arbor was down 38-24 at the intermisiion but battled back and played the Panthers to an even second half.
The Cougars were led by Jen Moor who poured in 15 points and gathered 2 rebounds on the evening. Lyndsey Norman was the only other Cougar to score in double digits, as she chipped in 11 points and 7 boards.
Davenport put three players in double digits and were led by Jeanette Woodberry's 20 point performance.
Spring Arbor will be looking to rebound when they travel to Madonna University to take on the Crusaders on Wednesday, November 8th in a 6:00 p.m. affair.
