Women’s Basketball receiving votes in national poll

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University is receiving votes in the second regular season edition of the NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
 
Head coach John Williams and the Cougars boast a 6-1 record to start the year with the only loss coming to No. 4 ranked Marian University. The Cougars are averaging 77.5 points per game and outscoring opponents on average by 18.5 points.
 
Megan Zeitz leads the team with 15.8 points per game while dishing out a team-best 3.2 assists per game. Emma Smieska is also averaging double figures in scoring at 10.3 points per contest. Freshman Haven Chapman follows with 9.8 points per game and is hauling in a team-leading 7.2 rebounds per game.
 
Spring Arbor is one of six Crossroads League teams in the latest edition of the rankings. Joining SAU is No. 5 Marian, No. 6 Saint Francis and No. 20 Indiana Wesleyan while Huntington and Taylor are also receiving votes.
 
Spring Arbor (6-1, 1-1 CL) travels to Mount Vernon Nazarene University (4-6, 0-2 CL) on Wednesday, Dec. 3 before returning home to host Grace College (6-3, 0-2 CL) on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 1 p.m.
