Kreklau Picks Up First SAU Win

Spring Arbor University women's basketball coach Tara Kreklau picked up her first win in Spring Arbor colors when her Lady Cougars breezed past Madonna University 62-45 tonight.

Spring Arbor put three players in double digits, led by sophomore point guard Kara Buehrer who lit up the Crusaders for a game high 19 points and passed out 5 assists in the process. Fellow sophomore Mandy Phillips notched a double-double performance with 15 points and 10 rebounds while Kristen Miller dumped in 13 points.

Spring Arbor sizzled the nets with a 50% success rate from the floor, including 75% from behind the three point arc, while holding Madonna to just 27% for the game.

Spring Arbor is back in action this weekend when they travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana to participate in a tournament being hosted by conference foe St. Francis.
