Spring Arbor University women's basketball coach Tara Kreklau picked up her first win in Spring Arbor colors when her Lady Cougars breezed past Madonna University 62-45 tonight.
Spring Arbor put three players in double digits, led by sophomore point guard Kara Buehrer who lit up the Crusaders for a game high 19 points and passed out 5 assists in the process. Fellow sophomore Mandy Phillips notched a double-double performance with 15 points and 10 rebounds while Kristen Miller dumped in 13 points.
Spring Arbor sizzled the nets with a 50% success rate from the floor, including 75% from behind the three point arc, while holding Madonna to just 27% for the game.
Spring Arbor is back in action this weekend when they travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana to participate in a tournament being hosted by conference foe St. Francis.
