Strong Second Half Not Enough, Cougars Fall to Trojans

After going into the halftime break down by twelve, the Lady Cougars of the Spring Arbor University women's basketball team put together a stellar second, half, at one point grabbing the lead before eventually falling to Taylor University 69-80.

Spring Arbor was led by Jenn Moor who pumped in 17 points and passed out two assists on the afternoon. Moor recieved help from Mandy Phillips and Kristen Miller who netted 16 and 12 points respectively. Phillips and Miller each also rounded up a team high eight rebounds.

The Cougars shot an impressive 63% from the floor in the second half of play, but a dismal 34% inthe first stanza for 49% overall for the game. Taylor shot at a 52% clip in each half. SAU won the rebounding war (33-30) but were just 16 for 25 from the free throw stripe (64% compared to 17 of 20 for Taylor (85%).

Spring Arbor is back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Mishawaka, Indiana to take on the Lady Pilots of Bethel College. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
