Leading by two (29-27) at halftime wasn't enought for the Lady Cougars of Spring Arbor University to get past the Foresters of Huntington University on the road Saturday, as Spring Arbor was out-scored 35-15 in the second half and fell 44-62.
Jen Moor and Kara Buehrer once again led the Lady Cougs, dropping in 13 and 10 points respectively. Buehrer also passed out a team high 5 assists on the afternoon.
Spring Arbor played well in the first half of the game, shooting 50% from the floor in the opening stanza, but struggling behind the three point arc (25%) and from the free throw line (50%). SAU was also able to limit HU to just 40% from the floor in the first half.
It was a completely different story for the Cougars in the second half of play, as their shooting went cold and they connected on just 25% of their overall shots (6-24).
Spring Arbor also committed 18 turnovers during the game compared to just 9 for the host Foresters.
Spring Arbor is back in action Saturday January 13th when they welcome the Taylor Trojans to campus for another conference match-up.
