Cougars Shoot Down Golden Eagles

The Spring Arbor University women's basketball team handed the Cornerstone University Golden Eagles their first loss of the season tonight, as SAU emerged on the victorious end of a 65-59 decision on Spring Arbor's home court.

The Lady Cougars were led by the hot shooting of Jen Moor who scored a team high 18 points on 4 for 11 from the floor and a perfect 10 for 10 from the charity stripe. Teammate Lyndsey Norman chipped in 11 points and added three assists as the Cougars won their second straight contest, evening their record at 2-2 on the season. Cornerstone entered the game a perfect 3-0 and left with the first blemish on their record for the year.

The Lady Cougars turned the ball over just seven times compared to the 16 offenses committed by their counterparts.

"This was a good win for us," commented SAU head coach Tara Kreklau after the game. "Cornerstone is a good team and we stepped up and played well toinght. As we continue to get healthy I expect our play will continue to improve."
