Norman drops 21; Cougars nip Trojans

Lyndsey Norman - AlbionJunior Lyndsey Norman poured in 21 points as the Spring Arbor University women's basketball team used a 48 point second half to claim a 65-54 come from behind victory over the Trojans of Taylor University on Saturday.

Down by 15 at halftime, the Lady Cougars poured it on in the second stanza, shooting 52% from the floor and out-scoring the Trojans 48-32 down the stretch.

Norman connected on 5 of her 14 attempts from the floor, including 1 for 2 from behind the three point arc, but did most of her damage from the free throw line, sinking 10 of her 13 charity stripe attempts to round out her scoring for the day. Norman also contrinuted a game high six steals.

Teammate Kristen Miller also had a big day, tallying 17 points on 8 for 15 from the field. Jen Moor and Amber Huffman contributed eight points apiece while Tristen Smith chipped in seven.

In a statistically even affair, the Lady Cougars held a slight advantage on the boards, out-rebounding the Trojans 36-31. The Lady Cougars committed 15 turnovers on the day and the Lady Trojans were guilty of 16.

Spring Arbor is back in action on Wednesday when they welcome the Bethel College Pilots to campus. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
