ALBION, MI - The Spring Arbor University Cougars earned their 11th victory of the season against only two defeats as they upended the Albion College Britons, 70-60, on Saturday afternoon.
Avenging a 19 point home loss the previous season, the Cougars led wire-to-wire and were never truly threatened. SAU built a 13 point halftime cushion and led by as many as 18 points on two different occasions in the second half as they shot 51 percent from the field. Junior Rob Boss (Brighton/Brighton) and sophomore DJ Baisden (Munith/Jackson Christian) pumped in 16 points apiece while junior Jared List (Frankenmuth/Frankenmuth) came off the bench to contribute 13 points.
"I was really pleased with our energy and focus. I thought our defense was strong and we did a good job taking care of the basketball," said Head Coach Ryan Cottingham.
Spring Arbor returns to action on Tuesday night when they host the NAIA division II, seventh ranked Indiana Tech Warriors. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
