Foresters Shoot Lights Out Against SAU

The Huntington University Foresters literally shot the lights out in the second half of a key MCC match up with the Spring Arbor University Cougars on Thursday.

The Foresters drilled a sizzling 72% (13-18) from the field in the second stanza, building a 12 point lead with just less than a minute left.  At that point the power went out in Huntington's athletic center for the second time during the game, leaving the players in darkness.  When power could not be restored, the game was declared complete with 57 seconds left to play.

The Cougars also shot well in the second half, scoring at exactly a 50% clip (10-20) but could not match HU's hot shooting and eventually fell 54-66.

Three Cougars scored in double digits, led by senior Jenn Moor's 15 tallies.  Fellow seniors Lyndsey Norman and Kara Buehrer kicked in 12 and 11 points respectively.

The loss drops SAU to 9-9 overall and 3-4 in a competitive MCC race.  Huntington improves to 12-4 and 3-2 in MCC loop play.

Spring Arbor will be back in action Saturday when they welcome Rochester College to campus for a non-conference tilt.
