Spring Arbor picked a bad night to struggle shooting the ball as they connected on less than 28 percent of their field goal attempts and fell to the seventh ranked Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats 69-47. SAU entered the game ranked 13th in the nation and in sole possession of first place in the MCC at 4-0. IWU improves to 3-1 in conference play while second ranked Bethel is 4-1 and St. Francis sits at 3-1. Junior Aaron List (Frankenmuth/Frankenmuth) was the lone Cougar to reach double figures as he netted 10 points.
"We knew this would be a very difficult road game coming off our big win over Bethel," commented SAU head coach Ryan Cottingham. "Indiana Wesleyan is very talented and won't lose too many more games, if any. I'm looking forward to seeing how we respond on Saturday."
Spring Arbor (16-3) will host the Grace College Lancers on Saturday, Jan. 10th in a key Mid-Central College conference game. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00pm. The Lancers are currently 12-6 overall and 3-2 in league play. Grace is receiving votes in the NAIA top 25 polls.
