Eagles Snatch Cougars

The Spring Arbor university women's basketball team suffered a tough loss over the weekend against Cornerstone University. The Lady Cougars continue to battle through offense woes losing 69-40. After starting the scoring of the game the Golden Eagles went on a 14-0 run to force Spring Arbor to play from behind.

Cornerstone shot a strong 49% from the field, while the Cougars shot an icy 28%. The Golden Eagles got out to an early lead in the first twenty minutes of play and only improved upon it in the second half of play.

Leading the offense for the Lady Cougars was sophomore Courtney Smith with seven points and four rebounds. Sophomore Sarah Wellman added six points along with three Cougars, Trisha Seilheimer, Audra Norris, and Alex Glenn, netting five points each. Glenn also grabbed four rebounds for Spring Arbor.

The women's basketball team is set to play their next games over the winter break at the Cornerstone Classic in Grand Rapids, MI. The Lady Cougars will play on Friday, December 18th against Dordt College at 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 19th against Clarke University at 1:00 p.m.
