The Spring Arbor University men's basketball team ran their winning streak to five games Tuesday night as they easily defeated the Kuyper College Cougars 88-65. Five players scored in double-figures for SAU led by freshman Jake Wild's (Hanover/Hanover-Horton) 19 points and sophomore Louis Klein's (Plainwell/Plainwell) 14 points. The trio of junior Willie Pickvet (Pinconning/Pinconning) and freshmen Matt Carden (Clinton Township/Fraser) and Matt Howe (Richland/Gull Lake) all chipped in with 10 points apiece.
"It was important for our young guys to get some extensive minutes. I thought they played well as they continue to show progress, so I'm encouraged," commented Head Coach Ryan Cottingham.
Spring Arbor will take their 9-2 record on the road this Saturday when they travel to Olivet, MI to play the Olivet College Comets. Game-time is set for 3:00pm.
