The Foresters of Huntington University proved to be too much on their home court for the Cougars of Spring Arbor as they downed SAU 73-64 on Tuesday night.
Despite a strong performance from the junior duo of DJ Baisden (23 points) and Willie Pickvet (18 points) the Cougars could not overcome the rebounding deficit (47-20). Senior Rob Boss added 11 points and freshman Matt VanPelt dished out a game-high six assists.
"Huntington presented some tough matchups for us," commented SAU head coach Ryan Cottingham. "They were physical and very aggressive on the glass. I was encouraged by the play of Baisden, Pickvet, and VanPelt."
Spring Arbor will step out of MCC play for one game as they host Marygrove College on Saturday afternoon. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00pm
