After jumping out to an early 23-13 lead the Spring Arbor University men's basketball team struggled for the rest of the first half and would head to the locker room tied 32-32 against the visiting Knights of Marian University.
SAU quickly built an early advantage in the second stanza but this time they didn't let up as they rolled to a 74-59 victory.
Junior Willie Pickvet tossed in a team-high 18 points and swatted a career best six blocks. Senior Jared List added 13 points and senior Rob Boss chipped in with 11 points.
"We played really well in the second half," commented SAU head coach Ryan Cottingham. "I thought it was our best defensive effort in quite a while."
SAU (17-6, 6-3) will travel to Ft. Wayne, IN on Tuesday night in a clash of the Cougars. The University of St. Francis Cougars (19-4, 7-2) were ranked 8th in the nation in the latest NAIA poll.
