Lady Cougars Fall

The winning streak for the Spring Arbor University women's basketball team ended at two games as the Lady Cougars ran into a buzz saw in the form of the Marian University Knights on Saturday.

The Lady Cougars found themselves in a deep hole early in the game and trailed by 27 points (44-17) at halftime. In spite of a better second half SAU ultimately had no answer for the size and physical style of the hosts and fell 79-48.

"Marian looked very strong today," commented SAU head coach Tara Kreklau. "We had a hard time with how physical they are. We played hard, but we just need to put that game behind us and move forward."

Alex Glenn led SAU with nine points and Trisha Seilhamer and Megan Bement added seven each.

The Cougars return home on Wednesday for a showdown with the University of St. Francis. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 p.m.
