Lady Cougars Win MCC Opener On the Road

Spring Arbor women's basketball team got back on track with a win on the road against Goshen College.  With the game tied 22-22 with 6:03 to go in the first half, Megan Bement hit a field goal and the Cougars never looked back and went into halftime with a 33-25 lead.

Head Coach Tara Kreklau never let up on the gas as SAU spread it open in the second half to finish the contest at 79-48. Leading Spring Arbor with 19 points was Melissa Tejkl with 5 of 6 shooting from the field. Her only miss was a 3 pointer late in the first half. Tejkl was 8 for 8 from the free throw line as well. Kate Bement and Kelly Bruggeman both added 13 points for Spring Arbor.

Ball control was the key tonight for Spring Arbor as the Lady Cougars dished out 15 assists and only turned the ball over 11 times. Megan Bement had 4 assists along with her 8 points in the game.

The Lady Cougars will be working over the Thanksgiving break as they will head to Siena Heights for a two day tournament on the 26th and 27th.
