The Spring Arbor University women's basketball team used the beginning of the second half to blow the contest wide open and never looked back, breezing by the Lakers of Roosevelt University 78-71 on Saturday.
Senior Melissa Tejkl led two Cougars who scored in double digits as she scored a game high twenty-three points on 7 for 13 from the field and 11 for 15 from the line. Megan Bement tossed in thirteen points of her own while Audra Norris checked in with 9 and April Adams, Kristin Kortarba and Ashley Stelter each scored 8 points respectively.
The Cougars shot a 35% from the field and 90% from the line in the first half and 44% from the field and 84% from the line overall for the game.
The Cougars travel to Grand Rapids, MI on Wednesday as they face Cornerstone University. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 p.m.
