Sylvania, OH - The Spring Arbor University men's basketball team earned their first road win of the season Wednesday night as they defeated the Lourdes College Grey Wolves 67-54. The Cougars shot 58 percent from the field including 55 percent (6-for-11) from three point range. Senior DJ Baisden poured in a game-high 20 points while sophomore Chris Bellamy added 19 points and senior Willie Pickvet tallied 17 points and eight rebounds. Spring Arbor led 38-31 at halftime.
"I thought we were solid on the defensive end and did some nice things on the offensive side too," Coach Ryan Cottingham stated. "However, we still need to clean up our turnovers and decision making."
SAU is now 6-6 overall and will host the 5-5 Olivet College Comets on Saturday afternoon at 3:00pm. Last season Spring Arbor lost at Olivet 74-70.
The Spring Arbor University Athletic Department is again partnering with the Parma Lions Club to collect food and/or donations for needy families in the area. Admission to the game will be canned food item.
