Spring Arbor- For the fifth time in six years the Spring Arbor University men's basketball team reached the 20-win mark as they defeated the Grace College Lancers 80-64 on Wednesday night. SAU improves to 20-8 overall and 9-5 in Mid-Central College Conference play with two games remaining. The junior duo of DJ Baisden and Willie Pickvet shared game-high honors as they poured in 19 points a piece. Senior Rob Boss added 13 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Pickvet recorded a game-high five blocks.
Spring Arbor led 38-28 at halftime and extended their lead to 23 points midway through the second half leading 54-31.
"We played well." commented SAU head coach Ryan Cottingham. "Our energy on both ends of the floor was good. Defensively we were solid and I thought we did a nice job contesting shots."
SAU will play their final regular season home game on Saturday afternoon when they host the Huntington University Foresters at 3:00pm.
