Lady Cougars Fall to Pilots

Playing very well in stretches wasn't quite enough for the Spring Arbor University women's basketball team to find its way past the Pilots of Bethel College (RV) on Wednesday, as the Lady Cougars fell 53-79.

After trailing 28-45 heading into the break, the Cougars trimmed the Bethel lead in the second half but Bethel answered. The Pilots were led by Heather Seyfred who poured in a game high 20 points.

Spring Arbor had two players score in double digits, led by Melissa Tejkl with 13 points. Tejkl's performance was backed up by Kelly Bruggeman's 10.

Spring Arbor will play home against NAIA #6 ranked Indiana Wesleyan University on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. tip off.
