ALBION, MI - Despite shooting the ball better, and turning
the ball over less than Albion College, Spring Arbor lost to the Britons 79-67
on Saturday afternoon in Albion.
The difference in the game was the battle of the boards as
the Cougars were out rebounded 38-20.
Spring Arbor trailed Albion 37-32 at the break and after
Jessica Garrison hit two free throws to start the game's scoring, the Cougars would
never hold the lead the rest of the way.
Audra Norris hit s 2 point bucket with 11:38 to go in the
game to narrow Albion's lead to three points (51-54) but Albion ripped of a
14-0 run and the game would be out of reach for the Cougars the rest of the
way.
Garrison led Spring Arbor with 18 points and Norris chipped
in 12 points. Alex Glenn added 11 points
along with five rebounds.
Albion was almost perfect from the free throw line hitting
22 of 23 attempts for 95.7% for the game.
The win was the first for the Britons after losing their first three.
"We just couldn't get things going tonight," said Head
Coach, Ryan Frost. "We gave up too many
second chance points to stay with them. Their
post player (Patty Rewa scored 22 with 10 rebounds) may have been the best we've
seen so far and was pretty tough to handle.
On the other end, Jessica Garrison has really come around lately and is
playing with confidence and seems to have turned the corner."
Spring Arbor dropped to 2-6 on the year.
The Cougars will return home on Wednesday November 30 to
resume MCC play with the University of Saint Francis. Game time is 7:00 pm.
