GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Spring Arbor University could not dig
themselves out of the hole they were in after the first half and despite a
valiant effort in the final 20 minutes, the Cougars fell to Cornerstone
University 62-48 in the opening round of Cornerstone's Holiday Invitational.
Alex Glenn led Spring Arbor with 10 points and six rebounds.
The loss drops Spring Arbor to 4-9 on the year while
Cornerstone improved to 8-5.
Spring Arbor was down 43-16 at the break and outscored the
Golden Eagles 32-19 in the second half.
"We dug ourselves a deep hole in the first half," said Coach,
Ryan Frost. "Not much went well for
us. I was proud of our effort to come
back after the half. We have to pick
ourselves up tomorrow and finish 2011 on a winning note."
The Cougars will play Viterbo University (WI) at 1:00 on
Saturday.
