ALMA, MI - Spring Arbor couldn't overcome a 24-34 halftime
deficit to Alma College tonight and despite playing fairly even with them in
the second half, lost to the Scots 51-62.
Neither team shot the ball very well with Alma fairing
slightly better with 42% field goal percentage, but Spring Arbor was only 34%
including 6 of 26 (23.1%) from beyond the 3-point line.
"We fought hard in the second half," said Coach Ryan Frost. "Our
defensive pressure picked up in the second half and forced them to take some
bad shots, but we just have to get better at valuing the basketball."
The Cougars turned the ball over 28 times in the game.
Three Lady Cougars were in double figures tonight led by
Alex Glenn with 14 points. Jessica
Garrison was solid on the night with 13 points and eight rebounds, and Audra
Norris added 10 points.
Spring Arbor will return home on Thursday night for a
rematch with Rochester College. The
Cougars visited Rochester a little more
than a month ago managing only 29 points in the game losing 29-45.
Game time Thursday night is set for 7:00
