Men's Basketball Drop Road Game to Grace

WINONA LAKE, IN - Spring Arbor University lost a hard fought 78-68 basketball game to host Grace College on Saturday afternoon. The loss broke a three game winning streak by the Cougars which included two victories over ranked opponents.

"Grace College (20-8, 10-4) is a very good basketball team," said Coach Ryan Cottingham. "Their guard, Bruce Grimm is a gifted basketball player and pretty much took over the game."

Grimm led all scorers with 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists in the game.

Spring Arbor Seniors DJ Baisden, and Willie Pickvet continued to "ham and egg" it with Baisden scoring 23 points, and Pickvet scoring 22 points and hauling down 11 rebounds.

The "Dynamic Duo" of Baisden and Pickvet has been something special to watch all season long. Only eight other times has Spring Arbor graduated two or more players in a single year in the Career 1000 Point Club.

Baisden currently sits in the 12th spot with 1662 points. Pickvet sits in the 25th spot with 1173 points.

The Cougars will conclude its regular season schedule on Tuesday night in Huntington, IN. Huntington is currently in 4th place in the conference at 8-6 and will conclude its regular season with Spring Arbor on Tuesday and then at Saint Francis on Saturday, the 19th.

The top four seeds will all host a home game in the first round of the MCC Conference Post-Season Tournament.
