SPRING ARBOR, MI - The Spring Arbor University Women's Tennis team lost their third straight match on Tuesday afternoon. This came at the hands of Marian University on the campus of SAU.
Doubles play started the action with Kelly Smith and Kristen DeBruyn losing a close eight game pro set 5-8 at the #1 doubles spot. Hope Roelofs and Becca Kragt lost at the #2 doubles spot 0-8, and at #3 doubles, Jenna Bart and Kelli Cross almost pulled off a big come-from-behind match but came up just short and fell 6-8.
Down 0-3 heading into singles play, the Cougars needed a big rally, but the Knights play was too much for Spring Arbor and the Cougars could only come up with a lone win coming at #1 singles with Kelly Smith winning in straight sets over Brittany Horlacher 6-4, 6-3.
Kelli Cross lost a heart-breaker third set at #6 singles losing 6-4, 3-6, 7-10
Spring Arbor is off till Saturday when they travel to Goshen College for an 11:00 am match.
