INDIANAPOLIS, IN - It started with two turnovers in the
first minute of the game and it just didn't get any better for the Men's
Basketball team against Marian University in Indianapolis, IN on Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars fell to the Knights 51-63 to
even their MCC record at 6-6. Marian
improves to 7-5.
Junior Chris Bellamy continues to impress as he led all
scorers in the game with 23 points including 4-6 shots from outside the arc.
Jake Peterson put in a solid day's effort dropping in nine
points and grabbing seven rebounds, leading the Cougars on the boards.
Spring Arbor managed only six rebounds in the game on 20
field goals.
As an illustration of how tightly contested the MCC
Conference is in basketball, the Cougars started the week in sole possession of
2nd place in the conference at 6-4.
After two losses, Spring Arbor now sits in a tie for 5th
place and in theory, only one game removed from being eliminated from post
season play all-together!
The Cougars will attempt to avenge a one point heartbreaking
loss to Grace College in Winona Lake, IN as they will host the Lancers on
Tuesday night in Spring Arbor. The game
is set for 7:00.
