SPRING ARBOR, MI -- Six-foot junior Rob Hogans poured in a game-high 30 points including 20 in the first half to lead Spring Arbor University to a convincing 72-54 triumph over the Siena Heights University Saints on Bill Bockwitz Court. Hogans connected on 10-of-15 field goals including 4-of-5 from down town.
Senior Matt Howe recorded his first double-double of the season as he scored 12 points and grabbed a game best 15 rebounds. Senior Chris Bellamy and freshman Peter Barry chipped in with 10 points apiece.
SAU led 38-22 at the intermission and were never threatened in the second half. The Cougars held a commanding 46-32 advantage on the glass while dishing out 18 assists.
"We are pretty good in short spans right now, said Head Coach Ryan Cottingham. "Our young guys are developing and we are moving in the right direction. I am looking forward to putting a complete game together soon."
Spring Arbor improves to 5-1 on the season and will be off until next Tuesday when they open the early portion of Crossroads League play at Bethel College in South Bend, IN.
