Lady Cougars drop first Crossroads League matchup

SPRING ARBOR, MI – It was tough sledding for the Lady Cougars against the 15th ranked Pilots of Bethel College as Spring Arbor fell  67-52.

Audra Norris led Spring Arbor with 12 points off the bench hitting three 3-pointers and going 3-5 from the free throw line.  Shelby Peterson added nine points while dishing out five assists.

The bottom line tonight was the pilots rebounding on the offensive boards.  In all, Bethel hauled in 26 offensive rebounds giving the Pilots too many second and third chances to score.

The Pilots were led by the tandem of Ashlee Ort and Laura Johnson who each had 18 points.

The loss was the fourth straight for Spring Arbor after winning their first two to drop the Cougars to 2-4 and 0-1 in the Crossroads League.

The Lady Cougars will be back in action on November 28th for their first road contest of the year in Fort Wayne, IN against the University of Saint Francis.
