SPRING ARBOR, MI - It was Senior Day on the campus of Spring Arbor University for the women's basketball team, and for the four senior on the Lady Cougar's squad, they will leave Bockwitz Court winners. Spring Arbor hosted the Goshen College Maple Leafs and controlled the play from start to finish and soundly defeated the Maple Leafs 66-55.

Jessica Garrison had the hot hand in today's game as she led all scorers with 13 points hitting three of five shots from outside range. Alex Glenn scored 11 points for Spring Arbor.

Seniors Megan Bement, Sarah Wellman, Ashley Stelter, and Angela Russell were honored before the game with family and friends present to help them celebrate their careers as they played their last home game of the year.

Bement finished the game with three points, Wellman scored nine points on three of seven from the field, Stelter added six points hitting one 3-pointer, and Russell knocked down two of four shots from long range totaling six points.

"It was nice for our seniors to go out with a win in their last game on their home court," said Coach Ryan Frost. "It was a great team effort for our team. We controlled the ball much better today, and did a nice job of containing their offense."

The Lady Cougars limited their mistakes to only 10 turnovers, the lowest number of the season.

The win stopped a seven game skid and was the eighth of the season against 19 losses for the Ladies. It also improved the Cougars MCC record to 4-12. Goshen falls to 3-25 on the season and remains winless in 16 games in the conference.

Spring Arbor will play its remaining two games on the road beginning with Mount Vernon Nazarene on Wednesday night at 7:00.
