Women's tennis comes up short at Bethel

SOUTH BEND, IN - The Lady Cougars were close but fell just short of the Pilots of Bethel College this afternoon losing 7-2 in their first time out this season.

Despite the 7-2 score, the match could have gone either way with four matches going into tie breakers. Of the four tie breakers, three of them fell Bethel's way

Picking up the wins for the Cougars were Hope Roelofs, and Freshman Quincy Banini. Roelofs gutted out a tough 4-6, 6-1, 10-3 victory at the #2 singles spot and Banini earned a straight set 6-2, 6-3 win at the #4 singles position.

Kristin DeBruyn at #1 singles(4-6, 6-1, 10-5), Katie Storrer at #6 singles (3-6, 6-3, 10-3), and the #3 doubles team of Storrer and Jenna Bart (9-8 (7-5)), were the three tie break matches for SAU.

The Lady Cougars return home to host Indiana Wesleyan tomorrow afternoon for a 4:00 match.
