The Spring Arbor University women's soccer team rebounded from Saturday's loss with a 2-0 victory over visiting Concordia University at the Cougar soccer complex tonight.
Spring Arbor was in control from the outset and outshot the visiting Cardinals 35-1 for the contest. The Cougars also enjoyed a 16-1 bulge in corner kicks.
Juniors
Brooklyn Morgan and
Ashley DeNio hooked up for the first Cougar goal midway through the first half as Morgan chested the ball down near the top of the box for DeNio who slammed it past the Concordia goalkeeper and into the left side netting for the game winner. The goal was DeNio's fourth in four consecutive games.
Morgan was also credited with an assist on the final goal, as she set up roommate
Karly Linton for Linton's fourth goal of the campaign.
Spring Arbor goalkeeper
Sarah Yancer was never in danger, as the Cardinals rarely crossed midfield in the contest. Yancer picked up her third shutout of the year, making just one stop.
Spring Arbor is back in action on Saturday when they welcome Marygrove College to campus for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff.
