Cougars drop Crossroads League tilt with Taylor University

UPLAND, MI – Spring Arbor University women's basketball team took a tough loss at the hands of Taylor University 77-52 on Wednesday night.  The game was evenly contested for much of the first half of play with Taylor owning just a three points lead 23-20 with seven minutes left in the first half, but would open up the lead with a 19 8 run to close out the half 42-28.

Jenna Jamieson led Cougars with a game high 13 points and Jessica Garrison had a solid night with nine points and eight rebounds.  Aimee Konkel chipped in with eight points.

SAU's shooting went cold from the field as the Cougars shot just 31% (19-60) as well as from outside the arc hitting just 4 of 22 (18%).  However, the Cougars were perfect from the free throw line connecting all 10 of their free throws during the game.

The Loss dropped the Cougars to 8-13 and snapped a two game run from Spring Arbor.  In Crossroads League action, Spring Arbor is 2-7.  Taylor improves to 14-7 and 3-6.  Spring Arbor remains on the road for Saturday's 1:00 game with Bethel College in Mishawaka, IN.
