DEARBORN,MI – The Lady Cougar Basketball team used a balanced scoring attack to defeat the UofM-Dearborn Wolves 69-57 on Saturday afternoon in Dearborn, Michigan. Carlie Newman led four players in double digit scoring with a game high 17 points as well as passing around seven assists and hauling in nine rebounds to control the game.
Jessica Garrison poured in 14 points hitting 3-6 from outside the 3-point arch and Kylie Townsley added 13 and Karly Bender had 12 points.
"It wasn't the prettiest game in the world, but I thought our girls did a good job grinding it out in a tough environment," said Head Coach, Ryan Frost. There was a lot of good efforts from different individuals today."
The Cougars improve to 2-0 on the young season and will remain on the road when they next play Rochester College a week from today on November 9 at 4:00 p.m. The Cougars split last season's two games and have a lifetime 7-5 record against the Warriors.
