Women's Tennis begins Crossroads play with 6-3 win over Bethel

SPRING ARBOR, MI – Head Coach Bobby Pratt began his coaching career of the SAU Women's Tennis team with a 6-3 win over Bethel College on Tuesday afternoon on the campus of Spring Arbor University.

"The girls really stepped it up today in this heat," said Pratt. 

Quincy Banini and Mary-Kate McShane each picked up two wins for the Lady Cougars.  Banini's wins came at #2 singles and #1 doubles while McShane's victories were at #5 singles and #3 doubles.

Other wins for the Cougars were Jenna Bart with a 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 win at #3 singles, Erin Hossack won at #6 singles 6-2, 6-3.

Banini teamed up with Hope Roelofs at #1 doubles for an 8-5 win and McShane paired with Paige Fallu for an 8-2 win at #3 doubles.

Spring Arbor starts the Crossroads League season at 1-0, Bethel falls to 0-1.  The Cougars will be back in action on Thursday for a 4:00 match with Indiana Wesleyan.  The match will take place in in Marion, IN on IWU's campus.
