HUNTINGTON, IN – The women's tennis team traveled to the campus of Huntington University in Indiana and came home with a huge 6-3 victory over the Foresters on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon.
Quincy Banini won a thriller at the #2 singles position after winning the first set 6-4, Huntington's Celine Rongos win the second set in a tie-breaker 7-6 to set up third set, super tiebreaker, which Banini captured 10-8.
Other singles victories were won by Katie Storrer (6-2, 6-2), Mary-Kate McShane (6-1, 6-2), and Erin Hossack (6-2, 6-0).
The Doubles team of Hope Roelofs and Banini won 8-5 and McShane and Paige Fallu picked up a win with a score of 8-2.
The win lifted the Cougars to 4-3 overall and into fourth place in the Crossroads League. Spring Arbor will finish the regular portion of their season on September 24 with a 3:00 match with St. Francis in Fort Wayne, IN.
The top four teams will host the first round in the Crossroads League Tournament which starts on October 1.
