Good Records Hat Trick in Shutout of Bethel

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Sophomore Corrie Good had no trouble finding the back of the net on Saturday night, scoring three times to lead 10th ranked Spring Arbor University to a 3-0 victory over Bethel College.

The victory extends the Cougars' winning streak to seven while improving their record to 11-1-1 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the Crossroads League. Meanwhile, the Pilots fell to 1-13 and 0-5 in conference play.

Bethel kept the visiting Cougars off the board through most of the first half, but the high-powered Cougars were able to breakthrough in the 37th minute when Good took a pass from senior Courtney Harrison and beat the BC goalkeeper.

Spring Arbor would continue to control play and create chances, but were unable to add to their lead before halftime, and would take their one goal advantage into the break.

The Cougars would quickly put the match away in the second period, however. In the 66th minute, Good tallied her second goal of the contest, and just four minutes later, completed the hat trick as SAU cruised to the win.

The Cougars outshot their hosts 24-2, while holding an 18-1 advantage in shots on target. SAU goalkeeper Ashley Timmons saved the only shot she faced in the match.

Spring Arbor will wrap up the regular season schedule with three of its final four contests at home beginning with a matchup against Marian University on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.
