SAU Women suffer cold shooting in Indianapolis, fall to Knights

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The weather may have warmed up a bit the last few days, but the Cougars shooting was as cold as ice on Wednesday night against the Marian Knights as Spring Arbor fell to Marian  84-47.

Spring Arbor hit just 17 of 64 shots from the field including a dismal 1-17 from 3-point range.

Spring Arbor played well the second half after a disappointing first trailing 15-45.  The Cougars rebounded well and played nearly even with the Knights with the second half score of 32-39.

Carle Newman led SAU with 14 points.

Spring Arbor drops to 10-18 and 4-13 in league play and, just like the men's team will play Mount Vernon Nazarene this Saturday with playoff implications on the line.  MVNU is also 4-13 in the CL and the winner of Saturday's 1:00 game will earn the final spot in the post season tournament.

Saturday is also senior day and Spring Arbor will honor the lone senior, Jessica Garrison for her solid four year career in the Cougar uniform.
