ALBION, MI – In the last match before the Lady Cougars head south to Hilton Head Island, Spring Arbor made the short drive to Albion College. The match had several tight matches, but in the end, the Brits got the upper hand with a 6-3 win on their home courts over the Cougars.
Mary Kate McShane and Paige Fallu won their match 9-7 at #3 doubles and the Cougars lost at #1 and #2 doubles to trail 1-2 heading into the singles play.
Quincy Banini lost in three sets at #1 singles 2-6, 7-6, 4-10, but Erin Hossack and Paige Fallu each won their matches at #5 and #6 singles respectively. Hossack's match was straight sets 6-3, 6-3 and Fallu's was 6-4, 6-1.
Spring Arbor fell to 7-6 for the year and Albion moved to 2-0.
The next match for Spring Arbor will be on Hilton Head Island against Milligan College on March 10. The Buffaloes are ranked 20 in the latest NAIA poll.
