ALMA, MI – A week in the sun did the Lady Cougars a lot of good as Spring Arbor University defeated the Alma Scots 7-2 on Alma's Stone Recreation indoor courts on Thursday afternoon.
After sweeping the doubles matches, Spring Arbor took a 3-0 lead into the singles segment of the match. Katie Storrer lost a grueling three set match by the score of 6-4, 4-6, 10-12 and Hope Roelofs lost to a solid #1 singles player, Megan Solano 2-6, 2-6. Quincy Banini out-lasted the Scot's Morgan Waier 5-7, 6-0, 13-11 and fought off a match point to take the #3 singles match and Erin Hossack (6-1, 6-0), Mary-Kate McShane (6-4, 7-5), and Paige Fallu (6-0, 6-0) all won straight set matches.
Spring Arbor improves to 10-7 on the year, and Alma falls to 2-6-3. Spring Arbor will make their last road trip of the year traveling to Angola, IN on Thursday, March 27 to take on Trine University for a 3:00 match.
