SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's tennis team fell to the defending Crossroads League champions 8-1 on Tuesday.
The Wildcats (7-1, 4-1 Crossroads League) swept all three doubles matches to take an early 3-0 lead. Mary-Kate McShane and Monika Wynne nearly pulled out the victory at No. 3 doubles, battling IWU's Diane Jones and Courtney Siepman, but came up just short in an 8-6 defeat.
In singles, Wynne posted the lone victory for the Cougars prevailing 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 at the No. 6 spot. The freshman is now 7-0 in singles competition this season.
Spring Arbor (5-2, 5-2 Crossroads League) will wrap up regular season conference play when it hosts Huntington University on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 11 a.m.
