HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University women's basketball team was unable to get anything going offensively against No. 21 Huntington University on Wednesday night, falling to the Foresters 80-47 in Crossroads League action.
The loss dropped the Cougars to 6-16 overall and 1-10 in the conference while the Foresters boosted their record to 15-6 and 6-5 in league play.
Fresh off a season-high 22 point performance against Goshen College, freshman Autumn Goggin paced the Cougars with 14 points and four rebounds. Senior Lindsey Burnside came up one rebound shy of a double-double, finishing with 11 points and nine boards, while freshman Faith Johnson chipped in eight points and four rebounds off the bench.
Spring Arbor ended the evening shooting 29 percent (15-for-51) from the field, including 1-for-11 from behind the arc. Meanwhile, Huntington connected on 45 percent (27-for-60) of its attempts. The Foresters were also able to capitalize on SAU giveaways, outscoring the Cougars 24-6 on points off turnovers.
The Cougars will look to bounce back when they host the Bethel College Pilots (8-15, 2-9 Crossroads League) on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 1 p.m.
