SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's tennis team dropped its home finale 6-3 to Aquinas College on Saturday.
Prior to the match, the Cougars honored their three seniors Erin Hossack, Hope Roelofs and Katie Storrer for all their hard work and dedication to the University and the women's tennis program.
The Saints (14-10), who are receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 Poll, claimed two of the three doubles points behind the play of one of the best tandems in the region. Sophomore Mary-Kate McShane and freshman Monika Wynne earned one point for the Cougars following a convincing 8-2 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Aquinas sealed the match with wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 singles. However, Storrer battled back to triumph in three-sets 3-6, 6-2, 10-5 at No. 4 singles, and, after suffering her first singles loss of the season earlier in the week, Wynne bounced back to earn a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 6 singles.
Spring Arbor (13-8) will conclude its season at Cornerstone University on Tuesday, Apr. 21. The match is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
