HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars of Mount Vernon Nazarene scored the opening seven points to start the game and would never trail in the game. Their highest lead was 23 points.
- SAU rallied in the last minutes of the fourth quarter and closed the gap to 10, 68-58, behind 10 fourth quarter points by freshman Sara White.
- Mount Vernon Nazarene held off the late charge by hitting late free throws to finish the game.
FOR SPRING ARBOR
- Sara White paced the cougars with a season-high 18 points on 9-of-10 shooting and four rebounds.
- Gracie Cabana scored 11 points and added five assists while Gabby Barnett recorded a team-high seven rebounds.
- Spring Arbor shot 40 percent (25-for-62) on the night and out-rebounded MVNU 39-37.
FOR MOUNT VERNON NAZARENE
- Natalie Carpenter led the team in scoring with 23 points while Sierra Basista added 14 points. Dani Ellerbrock dished out 13 assists.
- Mount Vernon Nazarene forced SAU into 19 turnovers and converted 13-of-16 free throws.
- MVNU finished the evening shooting 44 percent (28-for-63) from the field.
